What I've Been Doing Lately...
Freelance writer/editor/photographer: 1999 – present for print and online publications.

— Editing copy and writing features and restaurant reviews for Austin Monthly magazine. Contributing to and copy editing Texas Music magazine, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits festival guides. Producing arts/entertainment, media, trend, travel and pop-culture pieces for outlets including the internationally syndicated Christian Science Monitor; Rolling-stone.com; Paste, Grammy, American Style, American Songwriter, Texas Highways, Penn Stater and other magazines; the Austin American-Statesman; the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette; modernguitars.com; and lonestarmusic.com. Reviewing albums and reporting for KUT-FM producer/host David Brown’s syndicated “Texas Music Matters” show.

— Built relationships with music and arts providers and supporters; wrote grant proposals; contributed to project planning, including major multi-media archiving program.
— Served as Webmaster, including writing, photographing, posting and updating content; funded and implemented new Web architecture and redesign. Created and executed Texas Folklife’s first accordion-playing contest.

— Coverage has included: Hollywood Bowl’s 50th anniversary; openings of Seattle’s Experience Music Project and Cleveland's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame & Museum (and Rock Hall educational trips, symposiums and Hall of Fame inductions); debut of the Smithsonian's first traveling exhibit (Woody Guthrie); White House Tribute to Jazz concert; music and radio conventions including 14 South By Southwest Music & Media conferences; Delbert McClinton & Friends Caribbean music cruises; W.C.
